Aspazija Sofijanova, PhD, MD is presently working as a Chief of the Neonatal and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and President of the Macedonian Pediatric Association. Proffesor Sofijanova held many Lectures on national and international congresses and has been executive of various projects including perinatal and neonatal morbidity and mortality and a ten years experience in giving additional medical practice and lectures for students studying medical faculty and dentistry. During the year of 2000-2004 she was a part of the International project sponsored by the World Bank for decreasing the perinatal mortality in the region, and for that purpose she was for 6 months (2001)in the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney-Australia working at the department of peri-neonataology where she has been working in the hospital and actively participated in all congresses held and has successfully finished the final exam being nominated as the one with extraordinary perinatal skills. After that she was involved in the standard setting for implementing that project in the country.
