Przemyslaw Twardowski M.D., has been selected as one of America’s Top Doctors multiple times and with patients leaving reviews like this it comes as no surprise: “Dr. T is an awesome doctor! He has been my doctor for the past 4 almost 5 years now. He is very thorough and has a great bedside manner, very compassionate. ” Currently he is a Professor of Medical Oncology and practicing oncologist at the Department of Genitourinary Oncology at the John Wayne Cancer Institute at Providence Saint John’s Health. Both of Dr. Twardowski‘ s parents and his grandfather were physicians so there was an element of family tradition involved in his choice to pursue medicine. His father is most responsible for instilling great interest and excitement in his pursuit of excellence in science and medicine. What gives Dr. Twardowski the greatest satisfaction in his practice is seeing his sick patients get better and enjoy their lives again. He has vast experience in the management of genitourinary malignancies including prostate, bladder, kidney and testicular cancers. Over the last twenty years, he was a principal investigator and contributor to multiple clinical trials that expanded treatment options for patients with cancers of the genitourinary tract. Dr. Twardowski is a board-certified medical oncologist and is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology. He has practiced medicine in the state of California for over twenty years. His medical philosophy is to provide passionate, state of the art cancer treatment always considering each patient’s unique circumstances and values. In addition to his state of the art cancer care, he is a professor of medical oncology and has years of experience in oncology and therapeutics research. He has been awarded multiple grants and received numerous awards both as a student and then as an oncologist and researcher. He is a graduate of the University of Missouri and was Chief Resident in the Department of Internal Medicine at Northwestern University where he did his internship, residency, and fellowship. He then spent nineteen years at City of Hope National Medical Center. He started as a staff physician, progressed to Clinical Professor of Medical Oncology and is now bringing his expertise to Providence Saint John’s Health.
